Regardless of whether you are in a large organisation, running a small business or coaching a sports team you will want a team of winning mind-sets. A high performing team has ‘glue’. It is the substance that will bind your team together and create an environment for achieving results. You will need to focus on creating a winning culture, rather than a trophy-winning mentality. Winning at sports is a bi-product of doing things right and it is the same in business. You’ll need a holistic approach. It's not going to be an easy process, but if you follow these rules that I and other successful coaches have used to achieve success, you will be well on your way to creating a high performance team.
The following concepts and theories are based on my own experiences both good and bad. My experiences include working with the British Inline Hockey team, sales management teams, charities and a various number of teams I have coached in both the sports and business arena during the last ten years. A lot of thought and research has gone into this philosophy for creating high performance teams to ensure that it has substance and has a practical application. Teams that have applied the rules below have achieved much success either from a start up position, a turnaround situation or a high performing team that wants to achieve even more.

Get Your House Order is a metaphor for creating a holistic team strategy. It ensures that your team will be dynamic by applying a ‘whole brain’ approach. An organisation will only be as good as the teams within it and an individual will only be as good as the team he or she is in. Therefore the quality of the team drives both the performance of the organisation and the individual. The same framework applies if you are coaching a sports team.
